Welcome to the Greys Fly Fishing Travel Bag and Reel Page!
Greys is a Division of Hardy of England and offers the fly fisher a complete line of travel bags, technical fly fishing clothes and fly reels. All of these products are designed and created by the Hardy and Greys fly fishing staff in England. After products are created, they are thoughly tested by the Hardy/Greys Pro Staff. Changes to the designs are made and added and only after the products are completely evaluated are they introduced. Part of why these products are so unique and well made lies in the conditions the Pro Staff normally fishes in. In teh North Atlantic, fly fishers are using these products in snow, freezing rain, gale winds and diving tempatures. These products will keep you warm, dry and comfortable. If these products, work in these conditions, they can take whatever sort of conditions you can create on your adventures and travels here or wherever you may go. Greys reels have a lifetime warranty and Greys tackle bags have a 1 year warranty. For terms and conditions of the warranty, please contact Hardy/Greys.

Greys Fly Tackle Bags
Got a lot of gear to carry? Greys has designed some of the best fly tackle bags to carry your gear around. Greys bags are designed to match the toughest of fishing conditions, while at the same time protecting the investment you've made into your tackle collection. These bags were designed and created by the Hardy/Greys fly fishing staff to hold your fly fishing gear. These aren't some recycled wannabe bags with a fly fishing label added on. All the bags were tested in some of the most extreme weather conditions found in the North Atlantic ( ie England and Scotland ). Only when the bags were completely refined, did the staff at Hardys/Greys introduce them to you.
Platinum Tackle Bags:
If you do much fishing from a boat, you are going to love these bags.
Designed for the biggest tackle collector, a guide that likes to carry loads
of extra gear for his clients or the even the fly fisher that likes to be
prepared for all kinds of fishing, these are some of the best gear bags
made or offered by any manufacturer.
Each Platinum bag starts with a molded plastic base, so if you are in a boat, your bag won't be getting wet. The stiff bottom also keeps loaded bags from folding in the middle, making the tackle slide around. If fishing from the bank or dock, the insides of the bag will stay totally dry. While originally designed for UK style stillwater fly fishing, these bags are ideal for drift boats, saltwater angling or guides that need to carry everything to make his client's day perfect.
Each bag has space for mulitple fly reels, extra spools and the interior is made of a hi-vis flo orange color so you won't be loosing that 7x leader in the sides during the last few moments of the evening hatch. The top has pockets designed to hold leaders and tippets. While the front has tool bands to hold gadgets and folds down as a work station. The back has a rain flap that unfolds and pulls out to protect your bag from sudden down pours in the worst thunderstorms. Side pockets unzip to hold extra boxes, a packable rain jacket or additional gear. The strap is a padded neoprene web to make carrying eaiser.
This is also an ideal bag for your Truck, SUV or Camper/RV. Taking a long camping trip? This bag will hold it all. This also makes one of the greatest fly tying bags ever made, it will hold enough stuff to tie flies for an entire of Boy Scout Summer Camp.
Medium: 58x27x27 ( in cm) or 138"x64"x64" Price: $130
Large: 58x35x38 ( in cm ) or 138"x83"x90" Price $140
X-Large: 70x36x37 ( in cm) or 166"x85"x88" Price: $150 ( Note: Due to extra/ widith & lengths there are additional charges for s&h. Email me for more info. )
Platinum Reel Bags:
Greys Reel bags are
designed to carry and protect your valuable reels. Got a big investment
in several Hardy Perfects, an Angel and a few Flyweights? Well, these bags
are the answer to keep those valuable reels from getting dented and chipped
while your bags are being transferred to your next flight. If you keep tackle
in the trunk of your car or back of an SUV or Truck, this bag will also
keep your reels from getting banged up while driving to your next stream
to fish. Makes an ideal gift for your favorite angler.
Each bag will hold reels, spools while including space to hold tippets and leaders.
Sizes:
Small: Holds 5 reels/spools. 35x12x13.5 ( in cm) or 13.7"x4.72"x5.31" Price: $40.00
Large: Holds 10 reels/spools. 35x25x15 ( in cm) or 13.7"x9.84"x5.9" Price: $70.00
GRXi Luggage:
If you are looking for
more of a standard duffle type bag or just a rugged basic bag that will
hold all of your gear, then this bag is the answer. Each GRXi bag starts
with the same tough plastic base as the PlatinumBags above so if your bag
is in a boat or sits on the stream bank, the bag's interior won't get wet.
The stiff bottom also keeps the bag from folding in the middle. I have several
wader duffle bags that are soft and do just that, load them up with waders
and shoes and they fold like a cheap suit. Not so with the GRXi.... Like
the other products in this line, these are well made and affordable.
The GRXi bags are made of tough tarpaulin fabric that is a rubberized material that remains soft and flexible in cold weather. This makes the bag totally water resistant and protects all of your gear from getting wet in either a rain storm or while in a drift boat with that newbie guide that is taking a break from college and just learning how to row the drift boat. Can your say duck the paddle?
The outside of the bag has zipper pockets, padded straps and padded handles. The top has a vel-cro handle and locking straps to keep the bags from coming open. Tops have vel-cro on the underside so that the flaps can be secured and won't fly up. Inside each bag is a vel-cro system similar to camera bags that allow you to put inserts together in any fashion and create your own storage dividers for boxes, tippets, leaders, reels or flylines. Each bag folds flat after removing all of your gear so if you need to store it for the winter, the sides are soft and fold down.
The Small and Medium are suited for tackle and fly boxes, while the large makes an ideal wader/shoe+ vest bag. All bags have soft side so they can be packed full and taken on the plane as luggage. These will also make great bags for the kayaker and canoe fly fisher. The small bag could also fit on a potoon boat or in the hatch of a kayak. You can also use these bags on Boundry Water Trips or for Rafting Trips to keep gear totally dry. All, in all a great value and a well designed bag.
