Badger Creek's
Black Bugger Saddle: Has loads of long 15" feathers. Ideal for
flat wings, buggers. Dyed over white. Has some wider feathers in the center.
Ties size 8-10-12. Excellent value for the money. $19.00

Hen Pheasant
Pelt: This is the complete pelt. Has cape, saddle, body, wings. Dried
flat. Use for wet flies, hopper wings, soft hackles. Body is a mix of tan,
brown and cream. Ideal for stoneflies, sculpins. Wing quills are nice for
making March Brown Wet flies. $15.00

Deceiver Saddles: Use these for making Deceivers, makes excellent streamer
hackle. Wide, soft feathers, these saddles tie 4-6-8. Colors: White, Black/Dyed,

Ideal for making bombers or buggers. Grizzly, Grizzly Olive, Grizzly Brown,

New Soft Hackle Materials

Asian Partridge
(AKA Female Black Francilican Partridge): These are a mix of tan/brown
and ceram. This is an ideal match for many antique patterns that call for
tawny owl. Owl is not something that is legal to use, but this is very close.
These are grade 2 pelts and some of the heads are missing or some are not
quite perfect.

Bob White
Quails (Ltd Supply): These are nice American Bob White Quails that are
useful for making soft hackles. The bodies are a mix of brown, dark brown
and cream. The stems on these tend to be quite thick. To use, flatten the
stem with a fingernail or a spoon, stroke fibers down and tie in by the
tip. This will make using them easier.

Select Maine
Ruffed Grouse: These are very nice full size pelts from Maine. Includes
the head, wings, tails and bodies. The backs have eyes on them and can be
used for some salmon flies. Tails are useful for making caddies and the
head contains some natural black. These are very good quality pelts, some
of the best I've had. Size is about 10-12" long.

Sharptail Grouse
: These have some larger feathers on them with a mix of white, gold,
brown. The backs make ideal wingcases for stoneflies. Larger hackles can
be used on soft hackle steelhead nymphs. These are Grade 2 pelts. Some pelts
have little or no head, some pelts missing wings. Price: $10.00
Wings Only: $10.00

Dun Starling (Ltd
Supply ) : These are young, immature starlings that are dun colored.
Contains no peacock colors or spots. Has many small feathers on them. Useful
for making small soft hackles. Complete pelt: head, tail, wings, body.
Price: $7.50

Select Starlings:
These are beautiful pelts that are dried flat. The bodies contain loads
of small metallic green/black/purple feathers. Many have small white spots.
These are great when mixed with purple floss. Use them for many interesting
patterns. Complete head, tail, wings and body.

Hungarian Partridges:
I found a source that had a stock of these partridges for several years
and bought the lot. These are a bit more tan and brown the American Huns
or the Premium Huns I stock. Fibers are a bit finer. Includes body, cape,
wings and tails. $16 each or 2 for $30


Red Grouse : These
popular feathers are available once again. Use for soft hackles, hackling
nymphs, the uses are almost endless.

American Chukar
Flank: These are very similar to red leg partridge/French Partridge.
Often used on Irish Mayfly patterns, use these to make some really cool
thorax dun mayfly patterns, makes excellent spinners or use for cheeks on
streamer. Packet of loose flanks: $2.50

Select Hungarian
Partridge Pelts: These great skins are once again available. Pelt size
is somewhat larger than standard pelts. Full feathered pelt with head, body,
wings, tails. Very nice. $35.00

Dyed Hungarian
Partridge Skins: Select pelts dyed to some really nice colors. Use for
nymphs, soft hackles, damsel flies. These are beautifully dyed. Colors:
Dyed Olive, Brown. Use for substitutes for many soft hackle feathers that
are difficult to locate. $25.00

Mike's Jailbird Marabou: These are really
cool! Featured in the Winter Issue of Fly Tyer. Feathers are blood marabou
that is silk screened with a barred ( or jailbird ) pattern. Makes really
cool spey hackle or can be used for wooly buggers or streamer wings. Colors;
Olive/Black, Purple/Pink, Orange/Red, Chartreuse/Orange, Brown/Black. $4.50
a pack.


Cul de Chicken:
This is a select patch of marabou from the breast of a genetic chicken.
This is an extra fine marabou that is then treated with Watershed to give
the feather added floation. Ideal sub for calf tail, use for parachutes,
shucks or on emergers. Colors: Grizzly, White, Olive, Tan, Dun, Medium Dun
or Olive. $6.00
American Hackle

American Hackle is Whiting's Line of Saltwater and Streamer Hackle. This is a great product to use as a substitute for Chinese necks, as Bass Hackle for Saltwater or Streamer flies.

Whiting Pro Grade
Grizzly Variant Streamer Saddles: These are wide long feathers with
a nice stem. Ideal for making longer flies. Each has a round tip and can
be used as tails on poppers or for many saltwater patterns.

Whiting Pro Grade
Deceiver Saddles: These are ideal for streamers. These have round tips
and a solid stem making them perfect for saltwater flies. Use for steelhead,

Dyed Ringneck
Pheasant Skins: These are beautifully dyed full pelts that include the
body, wings and capes. These pelts are loaded with metallic feathers that
can be used for nymphs, salmon flies and trout patterns. Colors: Black,

Dyed Ringneck
Pheasant Patches: They are back! For several years I have sold these
patches and lost my source. I located a new source and I am again able to
offer these patches. Dyed over saddles contain lots of interesting colors.
Useful for spey hackle and Gartside sparrows.Choose from Orange, Purple,
Olive, Claret, Flo Red, Black and Chartreuse. $5.50 each.

Silver Pheasants
( Body & Wings , No Tails) : These are prime skins hand selected
by me. The flanks are used in New England Streamer Pattersn and are white
with dark bars. Head and breast contains some metallic feathers. Grade

Whiting Tailing
Packs: This is the famous Coq -De-Leon Material. These are stiff shoulder
hackles which can be used for tails, spinner wings or wind the full feather
to make skaters. Colors: Black, Light Pardo, Dark Pardo, Brown, Dyed Dun.

Turkety Biot
Quills: These are very nice. These are leading edge wing quills that
can be used for biots on dry flies, emergers or nymphs. These normally are
not found in fly tying as they typically are sold to the folks that make
arrows and are used as fletching on arrows. These have a natural varigaed
color of cream and dark brown. To use just wind on. The natural varigated
colors make them useful for patterns like Klinkhammers. Colors: Natural,
Gold, Yellow, Caddis Green, Brown Olive, Muskrat Gray.

Stripped Turkey
Biots: These are the leading edges that are stripped and dyed. Similar to
goose biots, these are much longer and naturally varigated, making them
ideal for stoneflies, steelhead nymphs, dry flies or even emergers. Colors:
Yellow, Muskrat Gray, Gold, Caddis Green, Olive and Natural. $3.00

Dyed Peacock Herl:
This is a large bundle of strung herl, dyed. By dying the colors the
herl really stands out and becomes more vibrant and interesting. All dyed
colors will keep the original type or green but have a different cast to
them.Will liven up a large number of patterns. Colors: Flo Lime, Cerise,
Black, Purple, Flo Blue. $3.75

Mallard Flanks:
Finding good flanks for Joe's Smelt is darn near impossible. A fair
number of Maine tyers have given up and substitute mallard. Use for wings,
cheeks, as a tailing material. Pearl gray with light bars. $1.50
Mallard Dyed Wooduck: Use as a sub for Wooduck, Ideal for beginners or commerical tyers: $1.50
Also: available: Flo Yellow and and Yellow. Yellow can be used for Zoo Cougars and Flo Yellow makes a great hi-vis dry! $1.50

Canvas Back Feathers:
These are used to make Joe's Smelt. These are an imitation of the original
"Pintail" that was used to make Joe's Smelt. Originally, this
fly used a Japanese flank feather that is now on an endangered list. These
are flanks of canvasbacks that are trimmed and nearly identical to the original
feathers. $5.00/pack ( about a dozen)

Bronze Mallard:
It has been some time since I was able to find any of this material.
Bronze mallard is used for spey flies and wet flies as a topping or veil.
I matched 15 pairs and included a wide variety of sizes. You can tie the
biggest of salmon flies and larger wets. $3.50

Badger Creek's
Strung Spade Hackle: These are small hackles that are strung, ideal
for spade hackle. Can be used to make tails. Also makes nice skater hackle.
Colors: Golden Badger or Barred Dark Ginger. $1.50
Quills
I got some very nice salmon quills in. These are for married wings and are a bit unusal. Use them for making salmon flies or married wings.

Oak Turkey: Remember
that really nice oak turkey we used to get? Well it's back..... and this
is the good stuff. These are white marbled oak quills great for muddlers,
strips wings, wing cases, hopper wings and wet flies. Nice matched quills.
Natural: $5.50 Dyed Olive or Dyed Yellow: $6.00

Peacock Quills:
Long used as a sub for Bustard, this is a nice quill with vivid markings.
Select #1 quills, suitable for full dress wings. $6.50/pair.
White Tip Turkey( Not Shown): Long
time favorite used for salon flies, has a wild turkey base with a small
white stripe across the top. Use for married wings and wet flies. Nice edge
with clean tops. $5.50 /pair
White Dyed Turkey Rounds: Use for samller
salmon flies, these are white wing quills dyed various colors. Nice fibers
with a good edge. Colors: Black, Red, White, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green,
Purple. $2.50/Pair
Guinea Hen Quills: Often used for many
Ray Bergman patterns as a wet fly wing. Favored by Don Bastion. Paired quills
with clean edges. Price is $2.50 a pair
Duck Quills: Used in classic patterns
like the Trout Finn, these quills are ideal for all of your Ray Berman wets
and Don Bastion patterns. Choose from Black, Orange, Yellow, Red, White,
Natural, Green, Olive, Gray, Silver Doc Blue. $1.50 a pair

Ruffed Grouse Tail
Clump: Full clump. Use these like pheasant tail and wind fibers for
a body. Clip sections out for wet fly wings or cut out to make caddis wings.
If you soak the quill, you can pull the center off the stem and use this
for a condor substitute on nymphs. $4.50
Wow! These is really nice stuff! These are hand selected premium CDC feathers. Each feather comes from a genetic farm raised duck.

Jumbo Premium Genetic
CDC: This CDC is about twice the size of the average CDC feather. Can
be used for spinners, wound as a parachute, palmer wrapped or as a collar.
Fibers can be removed and used as a bundle. Natural Colors: White, Medium
Dun, Dark Dun, Brown Dun, Light Ginger, Dyed Olive, Dyed Yellow, Dyed Light
Dun, Dyed Black. $4.50 each

CDC Puffs: Ideal for emergers, para-posts, midges, as a shuck or spinner
wings. Fibers can be removed and used as a bundle. These are larger and

Goose CDC: This
product is my own and is available nowhere else! Natural Dun is a brown
dun and it is an ideal match for BWO wings and for emergers. Fibers are
somewhat longer than reg Cdc and is a bit nicer to use. Contains many of
the " Type 1" Cdc feathers. White . Larger package than
standard Cdc., Dyed Brown, Dun or Olive $3.50
